One of the many goals of the ChronoTrack system is to simplify the timing process for athletes. A disposable tag eliminates the need for several organizational choke points that allow the athletes to spend more time focusing on their competition and less time waiting in lines. Shorter lines before the race to pick up your bib and chip and no line to return your tag or chip afterward are just some of the benefits to the ChronoTrack system. The B-tag is attached to your bib. This tag stays on your bib! It is far lighter and less intrusive than other timing tags and chips.

Fairfield Half Marathon Security Update
In light of recent events at the Boston Marathon, the Fairfield Half Marathon has been working even more closely with the police department to insure your safety as well as the safety of everyone involved. Among the actions taken will be an enhanced police presence, more surveillance, a new policy for baggage and a change in parking. You can assist us by being another set of eyes and ears for security. If you see anything suspicious simply go to the command vehicle near the finish line and speak with security. Our staff is working to see that runners will not be stuck in long lines and that your experience is a positive one.
No bags or backpacks will be permitted.
Persons upon their arrival at either the new Fairfield Metro Train Station or the Fairfield Train Station will be given a large (--” x --”) clear ziplock bag to put their items in. This bag will be large enough to accommodate a hand towel, a shirt and light pullover, sandals, and a few small personal items. Bulky items such as shoes and beach towels will not fit and should be avoided. A new expanded baggage collection area will be provided on the beach.
Runners arriving by train need to be very aware that they will have no place to leave anything not fitting in the bag.
Runners arriving at either station by auto need to check to see that the ziplock bag closes prior to leaving their car.
Persons driving directly to Jennings Beach and the nearby surrounding lots, we suggest leaving all personal items in their cars if possible and not using the baggage area. Remember that these lots are small and will be full by around 7:00 am. - if you arrive after 7:00 or the lots are full drive 5 minutes to either train station and take bus back to the start area. Cars in and around the beach lots may be subject to random searches.
