Event Leadership

The Fairfield Road Races are a community-driven event lead by the event's Race Director, Lieutenant John Calandriello. John worked on the event for nearly 20 years, before taking over as Race Director over 4 years ago. The Fairfield Firefighters have been the dedicated hosts since the event's inception in 1981. The operating entity for the Fairfield Road Races is The Fairfield Half Marathon, Inc., a federal not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, ID #06-1226507.

John Bysiewicz, owner of JB Sports, has been the Event Coordinator since 1989. Bysiewicz and his team have increased participation and charitable donations. JB Sports directs many of New England’s largest races including the Faxon Law New Haven Road Race.
